PLEASE NOTE FROM June 4th to August 27th, there will no LeRoc on Tuesdays
Reopens from 3rd September.

Every week, many complete beginners come to learn to dance LeRoc with us.

LeRoc is a fusion of Modern Jive, Smooth, Tango, West Coast Swing and Latin dance styles. It’s a dance for almost every occasion, and it looks brilliant whether you are a complete beginner or an expert.

LeRoc is easy to learn, sociable, fun, and can be danced to most styles of music. A LeRoc night is a great way to meet people, have fun and keep fit!

Colin Shaul is the founder of LeRoc Surrey and is supported by a large team of crew members and dance friends, many have been with us since the start back in 1995.

Colin began dancing modern jive in 1993 and then opened his own club in 1995. He is well known on the dance circuit as a Teacher and DJ at many dance weekenders. He is also a club member of the LeRoc Modern Jive Federation. He is a partner at MJRoc Dance Weekenders.

LeRoc Surrey currently operates one regular weekly dance class locations in Ashtead, plus further events each weekend at a freestyle dance venue on either a Friday or Saturday - check the calendar and our Facebook page for details.

Sadly after nearly 18 years of running of running Monday nights at intially Friends Provident club Dorking, which became Friends Life, then Aviva, its doors closed in October 2016, due to the venue closing.

Then sadly after 19 years on 16th October 18, at Dorking Halls, when arriving for another night of dance, we were immediately forced into a position to cancel all our weekly classes and Ball Night, when after many complaints about the floor and the way its changed recently to a heavy grip resistance floor, which you cannot dance on. It was very sad to be put into this position where the floor cannot be returned to how we enjoyed 19 years until recently, which forced an early depature. You cannot dance on a surface that cannot be prepared to allow this. Something happened this summer and it just got worse to the point no dancing was possibe, hence we have left and now will enjoy dancing at the excellent dance floor at Ashtead Hall.
In addition the cost of the hiring this venue was doubling in 2019 and were unable to meet those finanical demands, so we were moving to our Ashtead venue from 22/1/19 anyway.
So sad it had to end this way at Dorking Halls, with no chance of a grand farwell!

Watch this space for a new Monday night venue or even another night!!
